About Downley Voices

Downley Voices was originally set up in 2012 as The Downley Descants, a community choir serving the village of Downley and the surrounding area.  In 2024, members of the choir voted to rebarnd as Downley Voices as over a third of the choir were men.

The choir perform on several occasions throughout the year including an annual Christmas Concert and the Downley Up! festival. Since starting, money has been raised for good causes including, Motor Neurone Disease Assoc, South Bucks Hospice, Social Link, Karen’s Big Smiles, Rennie Grove Hospice, Wycombe Homeless Connection, T V Air Ambulance, Child Bereavement UK, One Can Trust, PACT, Alzheimers Society, Padstones, Cakes 4 Casualties, Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis, PACE, Wycombe Rent Deposit Scheme, Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Youth Enquiry Service, Wycombe Shopmobility, National Autistic Society South Bucks, Pancreatic Cancer UK, British Heart Foundation and Growing Hope.

There are no auditions nor is there a requirement to read music. You should, however, enjoy singing and a convivial social atmosphere. Our meetings are fun but we work hard towards our performances at various concerts throughout the year, striving to achieve the best we can and to keep improving.

Why not come along and give us a try for two weeks then decide if the choir is for you? We are always happy to welcome new members. Please contact us if you are interested.
